As the Jewish people, we are irrefutably connected to Israel, the Jewish homeland. Whether you have visited Israel dozens of times or have never been close, speak Hebrew fluently or don’t know the alef-bet, UJC can be your vehicle through which to support Israel.
The UJC of Cape Town allocates significant funding to the Jewish Agency for Israel/Keren HaYesod, our main overseas partner. The Jewish Agency has been working since 1929 to build the State of Israel and still works tirelessly today to strengthen the State; support new immigrants to Israel, of whom many are South African; and build relationships between Jews in Israel and Jews in the Diaspora.
Beyond the support given to the Jewish Agency, UJC also supports Israel through organisations locally which educate children and adults about Israel and advocate on behalf of Israel.
